What We Do

Welcome to Concrete Canoe at the University of Oklahoma! The OU Concrete Canoe Team designs, builds, and races 20 foot long canoes built exclusively from concrete. We are a hands on, dynamic team and welcome any major. We would love for you to participate and be part of the team. We meet every Monday at 6:00 pm in the Concrete Canoe bay of the Rawls Engineering Practice Facility. If we are not meeting it will be posted on our groupme or our Instagram @concretecanoe_ou. We look forward to meeting you!

Concrete Design

Here, we design, mix, and test various formulas of concrete mix. We test a wide variety of mixes before ultimately deciding what to construct this year's competing canoe out of!

Aesthetic Design

Not entirely interested in getting your hands covered in concrete but still want to be part of the team? Help us out in the display section of the ASCE conference by building a showstopping arrangement.

Trust in your fellow teammates engineering and join our team to paddle our canoe to victory! We practice monthly at Lake Thunderbird to prepare for the rowing portion of the ASCE competition.

Meet Our Captains

Our team is one of the most diverse engineering competition teams on campus. We have members from all engineering majors, from civil, to chemical, to aerospace and more! Meet our leaders

Chloe Harwood

My name's Chloe Harwood and I'm this year's Concrete Canoe Captain. This is my forth year on the team and my favorite part of the experience is how close the group is and the great design experience you get building the canoe.
